What does CPA mean in Accounting?

In accounting, CPA stands for “Certified Public Accountant.” It is a professional designation given to certified accountants who have passed the Uniform CPA Examination and have met the requirements for education, experience, and examination set by the state boards of accountancy.

CPAs are certified by the state in which they practice and are authorized to provide a variety of services related to accounting, such as tax preparation, auditing, and bookkeeping.

CPAs should not be confused with CPA (Cost Per Action), which is an affiliate marketing term.
