Cookie stuffing is a type of affiliate marketing fraud where an affiliate exploits loopholes in an advertiser’s tracking system to earn commissions for sales that were not actually generated by the affiliate.

This is done by placing unauthorized affiliate tracking cookies on a user’s computer, which results in the affiliate being credited for any subsequent purchases made by the user.

Common techniques for cookie stuffing include the use of pop-ups, iframes, javascript, and manipulating URLs for images and in stylesheets.
